The following was written by Terry about his upcoming cycling challenge.
Well it’s a few days after I completed the Peak District Punisher in Bakewell. I only completed the short course of 40 miles but it still included one hill that had a gradient of 16%, but I survived and live to tell the tale. For those of you who may be interested I completed it in 2 hours 48 minutes, this was a little slower than expected but when taking into account the number of hills I am pleased.
By completing this course it has given me renewed confidence that I can complete the 100 miles in London on the 4th August, especially as the course will be a lot flatter than where I have been training and especially flatter than the Derbyshire Dales.
Well it is just about 1 week to go and I can’t wait to get down to London and underway. I am heading down to London on the Friday to get ready for the event on Sunday 4th August with my ridiculous start time of 6.46 but it will all be worth it.
With this blog I have attached a couple of photos from Bakewell, if you can please sponsor me so that more people can be supported by Birmingham Settlement to lead better lives.
